Olmeca Reposado is created from the Blue agave plant and given the name reposado because it has been rested for 6 months in American white oak ex-bourbon casks. It is a high-quality mixto tequila with a unique production process that combines hand picked agave plants, masonry oven, cultivated yeast and distillation in small copper pot stills. The aroma of the Olmeca reposado is fruity, sweet and citric with a touch of smoke and slightly woody. On the palate it is sweet with a slight honey flavour and smoky with hints of black pepper. In 2009 Olmeca Reposado won the gold at the San Francisco world spirit championship and the following year winning the silver, which shows this tequilas quality and consistency.
